what will cause  a 1994 toyota celica gt  2.2 not to fire.  We  have checked all  fuses has  new cap, buton and wires

Distributor problems are common, remove the cap and rotor and the coil cover and check the coil for cracks or areas where the current may have arced to ground, the coil in the only replaceable part, if the coil is good the distributor may need to be replaced, another reason may be that the timing belt broke, with the distributor cap off check to see that the rotor turns when the engine is cranked over, if not, the timing belt should be replaced.
