Toyota Repair: Hard starting 2000 Landcruiser, clean today, throttle plate

Question
Hello Ted.  I have had starting problems with my 2000 Landcruiser.  It starts but takes three times when hot; once when cold but rolls over rather than a quick start.  It sometimes starts but stalls and then starts and runs.
I have had the system cleaned with Terra Clean today and a new battery installed. After this I am still cranking a fair amount but it starts on the first or second try.  I am wondering if the fuel pump or starter are acting up. Also new are the timing belt, plugs and coil.  I am using regular leaded and not premium.
Many thanks.

Answer
Remove the intake hose from the throttle body and block the throttle plate open, the problem is carbon deposits inside the throttle body, it can be cleaned with a can of throttle body cleaner and a stiff brush, after that disconnect the battery, wait about 10 seconds and reconnect it and drive it in normal traffic for about 10 minutes. Is the check engine light on or was it on before?
