Toyota Repair: 91 2.2 L - 5SFE Harmonic Balancer replacement, 5sfe engine, pulley bolt

Question
Ted, the harmonic balancer gave out this PM on my '91 Celica GT-S (2.2 L - 5SFE engine). I'm a mechanical guy, with a general set of tools. I don't see how you replace the balancer without pulling/dropping the engine in this car. Help !!! I don't think I can do this job and I don't want to spent more to repace it, than the car is worth. Is there a secret to this job or is it pure he_ _ for a DIY job!!

Answer
The engine does not have to be removed, removing the front motor mount will let the engine drop down enough to get the pulley out, the main problem is the pulley bolt can be extremely tight so you will a way to hold the engine, a chain wrench on the pulley works, then a long breaker bar is needed to break it loose.
