Toyota Repair: 98 Camry sunroof, auto glass co, electrical connector

Question
Our 98 Camry's sunroof's damaged gasket seems to be catching and causing the sunroof not to close...actually, this happened awhile ago and we asked our 18 year old son not to open it again...well, "Mom, I thought I was turning on the map light and....it was an accident!"  Right.  However, the gasket is more damaged and we can't close the window.  I saw your recommendation to disconnect behind the light.  Do you think a auto glass co could just put a watertight glass panel in and forget the open/close function?

Answer
You can remove the panel and remove the bolts that hold the motor in and pull the motor down, then you may be able to push the roof panel foreward to close it, disconnect the motor's electrical connector.
I don't have any information on the last part of your question.
