Toyota Repair: Sienna smokes at start-up, combustion chambers, oil consumption

Question
I have a 2001 Toyota Sienna Van (64,000 miles) that ocassionaly blows a rather large cloud of white smoke when I start it up. I have to add oil about once a month. Other than that it seems to run OK.

Thanks
Ed

Answer
White smoke is normally water or coolant getting into the combustion chambers, this would be very unusual for this model, there are no known headgasket problems with this engine, if it was oil consumption the smoke would be blue, let me know if that is the case.
