Triumph Repair: transmission, moss motors, drive shaft

will a transmission from a 1970 spitfire 1300 cc engine fit and work if mated with a 1500 cc engine? will the differential and drive shaft from the 1300 be stronger enough to handle the 1500 engine?

Sorry, I have not tried that switch before and it has been too many years since I worked on them to remember all the small details that might show up Like, the non-syncro low gear of the earlier box was just a slight bit shorter then the one with a syncro low gear. But everything looked the same between the earlier box and the 1500 box. I think the drive shaft was the same other then some later ones had a CV joint instead of a Spicer joint. But Moss Motors sells a spicer joint shaft for all applications.

I think they will switch but just not sure.
