Triumph Repair: Gas pedal for a 1976 TR6, bell crank, tr6

Question
I went to start my car after the winter and the gas pedal did not activate anything. The car started with the choke and idled but the gas pedal did nothing. Could you please tell me if the throttle is directly connected to the pedal?

Thank you

Mike

Answer
Hi Mike,

The throttle peddle operates a shaft the runs left to right behind the engine and that operates a link forward under the carburetors to a bell crank with a link going up to the throttle shafts.

Just get someone to operate the peddle while you watch the linkage to see what has come loose and where.
