Triumph Repair: spitfire engine swap, deep pockets, engine swap

Question
i am interested in placing a v6 in a 78 spitfire, without having to do any real major modification.  what would be the best and the easiest engine to do this with and trans,  I understand about the power hump on the bonnet in doing this. any information would be greatly appricated.

Answer
Hi Wes,
If you can figure out how to do a V-6 conversion without doing a lot of major modifications I would like to hear about it. It requires a lot of fabrication, welding and inventing, not to mention deep pockets.
You might check with John's Cars in Texas. They have several conversions worked out and kits. I don't know if they have any for the Spitfire, but it would be a start. If not maybe they know someone who does.
A kit that someone else has worked all the details out on would be the only easy way.
Just don't do it the way I am on my MG V-8 conversion as I am many years into mine. I can only tell you how not to do it.
