UK Car Repair: rover216si wipers, wiper motor, blade

Question
QUESTION: i have a rover 216si 1998 and the wipers will not work on intermittent they get to half way then stop.
could this be the wiper motor or the relay
if relay is causing this where would i find it

ANSWER: I presume they work normally in other settings.  It may just be that the blade rubber is creating too much drag, see if they work with the arms moved away from the w/screen.  If so fit diffeerent refills.

QUESTION: hi william
tried what you suggested and still happens you can hear the relay click at each travel, so traced noise back to fuse box below steering but could nt find relay just what looked like a fuse is there a relay for wipers elsewhere

Unfortunately I do not have access to info on your car, but there is usually a seperate relay for intermittent and I presume that is what you hear, you have to trace the sound and then switch that relay with another identical to it and see what happens.
