Volvo Repair: 2001 S80 2.9 transmission, salvage yard, rockford illinois

Question
QUESTION: My 2001 S80 2.9 4t65ev trans went out, slipping and banging. I purchased a used trans with 130k on it and had it installed, replacement trans slips 2nd to 3rd shift after warmed up. My question is should I try another used trans, free exchange from the salvage yard I bought the 1st one from or have my original trans rebuilt by a reputable trans shop in town? Either way I am stuck for all the labor costs involved. My delimnais to spend the extra money on the rebuild?, will the shop rebuiding it have any problems ie: getting parts or information on repairs? since it is a GM trans is it the same as a gm application internally or not?
I have had many Volvos through the years and have never had a major repair like this on any of them.

Answer
if you came before here i would told not to rebuild they never do good job volvo trans is made by gm but is not same as all other gm trans . if you like the car i can help you locate new trans and let the trans shop install or you can get used one and install it . but if you can get one free for salvage yeard for free go with that that is good idea
