Volvo Repair: a/c compressor belt, crankshaft pulley, compressor belt

Question
I am replacing all the belts on my gas powered 1983 volvo dl non-turbo. The way i got the a/c compressor belt off was by removing the outer crankshaft pulley with the 6 10mm bolts. Now I'm trying to put it back together and having my doubts that i can re-assemble it the way i took it apart. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you in advance for your time.

Answer
Tim, the last person probably took out all the circular shims to tighten up that old worn belt. Look in the trunk. Now that you have a nice new one, the pulley halves are too close together making the pulley too large for that new short belt. Find a salvage yard or old Volvo shop and I gaurentee you he will have a stack of them hanging on a nail somewhere.
