Volvo Repair: car turns off 2 hours after radiator replacement, radiator replacement, radiator repair

Question
i have a 2001 volvo s60 2.4T and i hit a large pothole at night. the radiator was leaking profusely and my system told me immediately coolant lo, turn off engine. i managed to get it to a supposed excellent radiator specialist where i had the radiator replaced for a whopping $770. i picked up the car and went to get gas for 150 mile trip ahead. it drove fine there and it turned off/on with no problems. i left the gas station and the pedal felt like it was sticking a little and the turbo didnt really pick up with acceleration. just kinda dragging. i felt like i should pull over and check my fluids before i reached the interstate. so i pulled into a parking lot, popped the hood, and checked oil/brakes/etc. i also took the time to make sure all the screws to the lights and bumper were replaced because the volvo was heavily disassembled at one point during the day. anyway, i turned the car on, it kinda sputtered between 1500-500 RPMs and died. i attempted many times to keep it running in park. it died every time but one. that time it stayed steady at 1000 RPMs but made this horrible grumbling noise. i turned it off. NOW- i have to have it towed some 75 miles to get it diagnosed at a volvo dealership because i just cant trust mechanics who swear they fix the problem but create new ones. i honestly do not know what the problem is??? maybe fuel line/ pump?? why would it drive/turn on with no problem for about 1 hour after the radiator repair?? i mean it was all of a sudden. would it be wise to take it to a nonvolvo specialist at risk of getting burned again??

P.S. the car was not running hot at any time after it was picked up with new alternator..   but the cruise control was not working..

Answer
Hanna, personally, I wouldnt take my Volvo to anyone other than a certified Volvo Dealer or independent shop.  Those so called experts are nothing but hacks that cant fix lawnmowers let alone a complex Volvo like the S60.  I dont know what he did but there is obviously something not right. Not sure why the bumper would be off but they messed something up.  Let me know what the dealer says.  I would have to inspect and check the car myself to see what they did.  There may be a Turbo hose that popped off.   Unfortunately, I cant help you on this end without visually seeing the car.   Roger
