Chrysler Repair: Radiator fan always on: 95 LHS, coolant temp, radiator fan

Question
Eagle vision 1995 my radiator fan is always on. When I bought the air conditioning was not working and out of the belt loop. I have check the water temperature sensor it is fine, what else could trigger the fan?

Answer
Hi Dan,
If the engine controller believes that you have actuated the AC
"on" switch it will power up the low speed fan, regardless of the coolant temp and it will also do that if it thinks you have the defroster 'on' because that uses cooled air which requires the AC compressor too. So depending which, the conventional or digital type of AC/heat control you have, that would be the place to start if you aren't asking for either AC or defrost. to see if it is sending a false positive signal to the engine controller.
