Volvo Repair: Volvo S80 Position Light, volvo s80, electrical contact

I got an error message on my Volvo S80 for a position light failure.  I checked all the lights and all are working.  I did a search on the web and found a suggestion.  I was told that there are four position lights in the rear of the car, 2 on the right and 2 on the left.  Where are they?  Are they part of the tail light assembly or are they in the interior?  I cannot clear the code.  Please help.

This seems to be a common problem with Volvos. You should start by reseating the tail and brake lights, to make sure they are making good electrical contact with the housings. You might have to replace all the bulbs, as I have learned from some forum sites.
