2004 Volvo S60 A/C starts after engine is off
Question
After shutting the engine off and leaving the car, I have found the air conditioner on and blowing air three times now.  This has occurred despite my turning the A/C off before shutting the engine off.  There appear to be no issues related to the operation of the ignition key (ignition key position is off and key removed).  Upon discovering the A/C on with the engine off, the only way I can shut the A/C off is to start the car, and turn the A/C off (if it was in the "on" position) or turn turn the A/C on & then off (if it was in the off position), and then shut down the engine again.  Any ideas?

Scott, are you talking about the fan running inside the car?  This is actually a normal function that Volvo incorporated to dry out the evaporator.  It should only stay on for a few minutes.  I would have it checked by the dealer if you think this is going on for more than a few minutes.  Car is still under warranty.  Roger

My problem:
I have a volvo V70 with similar problem but the fan stay on over 40 minutes until battery run out its power.   Can you help?

Answer
Dick, It shouldnt stay on for 40 minutes.  There is a sensor issue somewhere and that has to be diagnosed with the Volvo VADIS computer.  A dealer or Volvo Shop can handle this problem for you.  Without scanning the car, I cant tell you whats wrong with it.  All computer controlled stuff on these cars now.  Roger
