Volvo Repair: S60 Throttle adaptation, intermittent fault, pressure regulator

Question
Hi, We are a UK based garage. We have a 1992 S60 with running and idling problems. We replaced the Throttle Module, and the Accelerator sensor. We used VIDA to install software. The car still has an intermittent fault with total loss of throttle. VIDA comes up with Thrttle potentiometer signal faults. If we carry out a throttle adaptation using VIDA, it runs fine until next time. It seems to be losing the adaptation data. We have tried 2 brand new Throttle modules but still the same. Have you ever encountered such a thing at youir dealership???

Also, I have a bit of help to offer on S40 turbo starting problems. If the car cranks for a long time before starting, we have found that fuel is leaking past the pressure regulator into the manifold. If you pull the vac pipe, you can see the fuel. We have done 4 of these now, and it always crops up on forums.

Thanks in advance for your help. Derren

Answer
It wouldn't be the first bad throttle unit out of the box. Was the same fault present before replacement? I have experienced some problems with downloads, only to call the local dealer and they send out a mobile technician and he has done the download using Volvo's dealer equipment, and it works...
