Volvo Repair: sunroof, volvo s80, 2000 volvo s80

I own a 2000 Volvo S80. The sunroof works fine and does not leak, but recently it began to rattle. It rattles when it's open or closed. I notice it more when it's open because the sliding shield in my roof liner is open. It's really annoying. Is there a way to adjust the sunroof?

Most rattles in the sunroof area are caused by the sliding shield. I've had some luck adding adhesive backed insulation up into the headliner where it can't be seen, not much about an inch square on each side. If its not the shield the brackets on either side have probably lost the plastic in the guides and will need replacement, not very inexpensive. How much does it bother you?
