Volvo Repair: i love my radio, factory radios, aftermarket radio

Question
hi. i bought my '93 960 a few months ago and the people who had it before me never used the radio. he had one of those cd changers in the trunk and it just recently stopped working. i loved it and then it just quit. i want to get a new radio with a cd player in dash, but i dont want to completely mess up the dash. is there a factory cd player (possibly an upgrade, better sound) or a faceplate that will cover the area if i buy, say, a sony or something? i really appreciate your help. also, will the anti-theft stuff give me a pain, or is there an easy way to disconnect it?
thanks again,
christa

Answer
Christa, there are nice faceplate kits that will not mess up the installation of the aftermarket radio.  You are better off with a Sony or a Kenwood because the factory radios are expensive and are junk for what they are.  When installing an aftermarket radio, you dont have to worry about anti-theft unless the new radio has a code or whatever.  Hope this helped.  Roger

Christa, You can get the face plate kit at any Car stereo place and I think even circuit city and best buy may have them.  If not, Im sure they can get it for you.  Roger
