Volvo Repair: Fault code significance, code combinations, volvo 850

Question
I guess a model and year would help wouldn't it!  I have a 1994 Volvo 850 turbo wgn.

The "fault code generator", for lack of a better term, has combinations of A1 thru A7, and, B1 thru B7 that are selected with a wire and hole,  you push the button for 3 seconds and a red light will give off 3 digit cods such as the B2 combination gives me a 122 code.  But I assume B2 pertains to a certain area, say for examole the brakes or the engine, maybe.  I would like to know if there is a spot on the web that would give these references as to what A3 or B5 etc pertain to.  or even better, a listing of all the fault codes.  This way I can check up on my mechanic!

The second question was on the same car and is to what the combination is that resets the SERVICE light on the dash?

Thanks

The text above is a follow-up to ...

-----Question-----
the code combinations A1-7 and B1 -7  what areas do they pertain to on the vehicle?  For example, through trial and error it looks like B-1 is transmission?

Also how do you reset the service light?
-----Answer-----
on what?  A boat?  Need year model etc.

Answer
Mike, are you giving me instructions or asking?  I know how to do all that.  I will give you a few because some arent really used manually, we use the scanner so it does it all.  A2 is engine codes A3 is trans, a7 is to reset the service light.  B5 is SRS.  Do a search for Volvo Codes and you may find what you are looking for. As far a the service light, here is the procedure.  Socket A7.  Turn key on.  Push button 4 times, wait until light goes off, push button once, wait for light to go off, push button 5 times, wiat for light to go off.  Push button once last time and wait for light to rapidly flash.  Light is now set.  Roger
