Volvo Repair: 2001 S80 T6 Blower speed, resistor pack, control climate

Question
Suddenly, today, the blower on my 2001 S80 T6 stay on the low speed.  When the auto climate control is on, the fan stays at a low speed, even though the car is hot inside.  There is also no change in speed if I manually try to change the speed using the control knob.  If I turn to the off position, the blower will turn off.
thanks for your help.

Answer
Most likely your problem is the blower motor power stage.  It is the same as a resistor pack on a manual control climate system.  It also could be the climate control module itself that has failed.  The only way to tell for sure is to have a dealer check it out with their computer.  A module you could not do yourself, but a power stage you could.  It is a little akward/difficult to get out but if you wish that is confirmed to be your problem just let me know and i can give detailed instructions on how to remove it.
