Volvo Repair: volvo 740 overdrive, volvo 740, solonoid

1989 volvo 740 est. trubo. overdrive stopped working. this has happened before. it was the conection to the solenoid. i don't know were that is. how do i get to it so that i can fix it. thanks

Bryan, It on the transmission and there is a wire that runs from the solonoid to the inside of the trans gear shift lever.  It may also be the o/d relay.  Also, it may be the O/D solonoid itself.  Lastly if all are replaced, then its an internal problem in the transmission.  Roger
