Volvo Repair: Front end noise (knocking), dear francois, turbo wagon

Question
1990 740 Turbo wagon w/ABS 190000 mi. I recently replaced both
front rotors and pads. Now there is a knocking sound coming,
it seems, from the left front wheel. I took the wheel off &
checked the caliper. I spun the rotor back & forth, seems OK.
Also the noise seems to go away when brakes are applied or
@ speed. I'm suspecting the ABS, but have no exp. As a matter of fact I have not found the fuse for ABS. It's suposed to be under dash on left but I can't spot it. I would appreciate any suggestions you may have.
Thanks, regards, Francois R.

Answer
Dear Francois,
More than a few causes for noises in the left front wheel..
Loose caliper...or improperly secured..failed lower ball joint...wheel bearing problem...loose strut insert..very worn tie rod end....misc. front end bushings that do wear and will cause a clunk.
Have a friend push the car up and down while you take a listen to where the noise is exactly coming from.
Most relays and fuses are located behind the ashtray...
               Good luck,
