Volvo Repair: 1997 850 turbo service light, mile intervals, tire rotation

Question
I purchased this volvo last week and it seems like a pretty good car. It has 143,000 miles. Two days ago the "service" light came on when I started the car. I checked all of the fluids ,etc and everything appeared to be fine.It continues to come on when I first start the car but goes off about a minute later. Is this something that I need to be concerned about? Thanks,Felix

Answer
no it is just a reminder to have it service.such as oil change tire rotation depending on the mileage.at this mileage at saround 140 it should have the timing belt replaced.it is done at 7ok mile intervals.nd if it breaks will cost about 3500 dollars to fix because it will damage the head.
