Buick/Olds: blend door, buick riviera, dual climate

Question
I have a 99 buick regal with dual climate control.  Saturday I left lights on and had to jump start.  Now the drivers side is blowing hot air all the time while the passanger side works fine.  Was told it could be the blend door by friend.  what is this, can i fix this myself?

Answer
Kristi, I wish that you were the only one who is having this problem, but unfortunately, you are not.  As a matter of fact, I am having this problem as well in my 99 Buick Riviera and I had a question yesterday that was the same thing.  I done some research on this subject and it appear that one the major signs that the blend door is the problem is when the car will only blow cold air.  With all of my studies, and I still have to do more, it leans more towards the HVAC system.  I suggest to try to replace the carbin filter, but I have just found out that there is some type of sensor that measures the moisture and comfort levels on both sides of the dual climate car.  I would venture to say that that is our culprit.  That may mean replacing the actual climate control panel, but so far, that is what I have for all of you all with this question.  Please email me with the results of whatever actions you take so that I can be of further assistance down the line.   BUICK FOR LIFE---GO BUICK!

Thanks,
