QUESTION: No codes or messages, I went to go get my AC worked on, and these so called mechanics wired the ac to always be on so it caused my engine to rev up really high. After finding out what they did I had them remove the wire that had my ac on, know my engine revs hi the n low hi then low in park and when driving. There are no messages and a an auto electronics person told me the ECM in the back of the glove compartment is most surely fried because of how the thing was rigged. Does this sound familiar?
ANSWER: Check the computer for codes and if there are any I need to know if they are CURRENT or HISTORY codes as the word CURRENT or HISTORY will appaer with EACH code that displays. If there are NO codes you need to perform a RE-LEARN procedure to get the idle back.

QUESTION: How do you do the relearn process?

Answer
2. warm up engine to normal operating temp.

2. let engine idle in park with wheels straight ahead. for 10 minutes.

3. apply brake pedal, climate control in OFF position, put trans in drive and allow engine to idle for 3 minutes. Do NOT touch the gas pedal.

4. While still in drive, brakes still applied and at idle, place climate control in AUTO position and allow engine to idle for 3 minutes.

5. Put trans in PARK and shut off key.
