QUESTION: I bought the car recently and it was this way when I got it.  It does not have a radio at this time.  No frame or body damage to indicate an accident, body is extremely straight with little rust. 88k miles on odometer.
ANSWER: First go to the junk yard and purchase a factory radio specifically for this year and model vehicle and install it and attach the antenna lead and tell me what the dash lights do.

QUESTION: Ok, I installed the factory radio which was still in the trunk of the car.  It lit up but did not work.  I removed it and installed an aftermarket radio which I knew was working.  Everything worked with the radio including the power antenna to my surprise, but still no interior, dash, or opera lighting.  I checked all the fuses and relays and they are good.  Gonna try to use my light tester to see if there is any power getting to the circuits of the light housings.  By the way, the cigarette lighters are working...wierd huh?
ANSWER: Do NOT use a test light to test the fuses or the circuits as a backfeed thru the systems can illuminate a faulty fuse. Use a meter.

Try replacing the BODY fuse,The GA-TRANS fuse, The I/P fuse.

Physically remove them and put an ohm meter across the fuse and make sure that they are good.

ALWAYS use a meter to be sure you have battery voltage on BOTH sides of the applicable fuses.

QUESTION: Where do I locate the BODY, GA-TRANS, and I/P fuses?  I don't find these in my repair manual?  also, could the fuses located above the steering column cause this outage?

Answer
they are all in the main fuse box. The I/P fuse is near the top and is a 5 amp fuse.

the fuses in the relay panel are like this:

   3 3 3 20
  10 10 15

the first 3 is for one fuel injector.
the second 3 is for the other fuel injector.
the third 3 is for the cranking of the car.
the first 10 is for ignition fuse.
the second 10 is for fuel pump.
the third 15 fuse is for computer power and fuel control.
the next one has no fuse in it.
