Cadillac: front struts on 97 deville/ & what does etc stand for on northstar engine, electronic traction control, wheel hub

Question
i recently bought a 1997 deville & when i hit a bump or go over traintrack i really feel it.,im looking to replace the struts ,but i dont know which ones i need , ive been shopping online ,,there asking my northstar engine is equiped with or w/o an ETC  -- what does etc stand for.. & im also told my struts should have some sort of electric connecton at the top of it / dont see one --does this mean my struts are not electronically operated.  or what should i look for.. please help

Answer
ETC = Electronic Traction Control. Which is NOT for the struts it is a wire that comes off of the backside of the wheel hub where the tire mounts to. It is for your wheel speed sensor device.

The speed sensor wire is just attached to the stru but is NOT part of the strut.
