Question
i have a 96 camaro and i out a starter in it and i went to turn the key and it did nuthin. i put a new battey in it and turned the key and nuthin. then i seen the secerity light flashin. so we started by the starter and it ran for 5 sec. and everything shut down. we were told to reroute the secerity wire but the wires have no power to them does that mean i need a new iginon switch?

Answer
Chris;
I would check all the fuses, than check  the pos+ wire follow it and see if anything that it goes to is burnt out. check the grounds at both ends also the battery term.  you might have blew a fuse or relay.I do not think the switch is bad.   you can try to run a wire from the pos.  on the battery to the pos+ on the coil than with a screw driver tap the starter over it should start up . hot wired
