Question
My brake lignts don't work and drivers side turn signal won't blink. When I turn on my headlights drivers side tail light is alot brighter than the other side and headlight flicker on and off on occasion. I have replaced bulbs and even the light socket on drivers side tail light. wiring is a mess been spliced lots of times. also when I bought the truck brake light is continualy on but brakes work fine. emergency brake wont come all the way up it is wired up. Any suggestions on how to fix it?

Answer
Hello Laura, Brake lights inoperative. if none of the lights work and the fuse is okay in the fuse box you may want to check the brake switch located on the brake pedal and see if it has power on one wire at rest and then power on the other when you hit the brake pedal. I have to reccomend cleaning up all the wiring and make sure you have a good ground for your rear lights. For your signals not operating make sure the front bulbs are good and be sure you are using the same bulbs side to side. with the park brake pedal not being up all the way first check your park brake cables and make sure there in good shape and if they are then your probably going to need a park brake pedal. As for the brake light being on there really is only a few things that can turn that on. One being low level in the reservoir, a faulty level switch, the park brake switch, or the switch in the proportioning valve for the brake system. if the system detected a leak and a big pressure drop it can move a sliding switch and turn the light on. But if brakes feel fine and the rear ones are operational i think  you will find the level switch to be the most likely culprit. Let me know how you make out
