GM-GMC: windshield wipers, driving in the rain, control switch

Question
Was driving in the rain today, wipers were on and working.  After the rain stopped my wipers didn't want to.  I couldn't turn them off at all.  Ended up having to remove the fuse.  2003 Chev half ton.  Thanks

I suppose that would be alright if it was always raining.  However, disconnect the wiring from the wiper control switch,with the ignition on, if the wipers stop then you need to replace the switch.
If the wipers keep running, then you have a defective motor, replace the motor.
