GM-GMC: 94 chevy silverado 2500 w/350 motor, chevy silverado, spray pattern

Question
Been having problem with backfiring. Only does it when fully up to temp or idling for long period of time at full temp. It bogs or cuts out first and if you push it, it backfires. She has high miles of about 160,000. Thanks, Matt

Answer
There are a few things that you can check quickly.  Check your timing, first and foremost.  Backfires are often a timing related issue and base timing is adjustable on that year.  Also check to ensure that the throttle body injector spray pattern is proper.  I have seen them get partially clogged and cause fuel puddling etc causing poor performance especially at idle.
Hope this helps
