GM-GMC: more questions..., headlight circuit, alternator

Question
I emailed earlier this week about a problem with my 97 S-10 Which i was experiencing problems with the alternator and whatever else... im really not sure what the problem is.. I replaced the alternator... i have no power.. the battery is new, the fusable links are fine... i checked all fuses.. the battery was load tested and seems to be fine... my headlights wont even come on... I have absolutly no idea what to do from here... Thanks

Answer
Unfortunately, I cannot see your vehicle to know what might be wrong.

Exactly how did you go about changing the alternator?  What was disconnected, in what order, and did you reconnect everything?

If the headlights will not come on, there is a problem with the the connection to the battery.  Either the 12+ connection is not correct or there is a problem with 12- (ground).  The headlight circuit uses a circuit breaker that will reset itself, so there are no fuses involved.
