GM-GMC: 2000 chevy 6.5L Oil leak, blower motor, Day Running lights, daytime running lights, sleeve bearings

Question
2000 K2500 6.5L diesel, 178K miles 95-98 body style.

3 questions:

1.  I have 2 oil leaks, one from the turbo..which I assume needs to be rebuilt.  The other is from the rear of the engine, above the large bolt that holds on the oil filter bracket.  Sound like an oil filter bracket leak, rear main seal or oil cooler line?

2.  The blower motor has stopped working.  The blower squealed under REAL cold conditions at start up for a week or two.  Then stopped responding to turning the control dial.  It still blew for a week, but sometimes would blow high when the dial was in the off position, or not blow when the dial was in the 3rd or 4th setting.  Now it doesn't work at all.  Resistor?  Motor?

3.  Daytime running lights stopped working.  Green indicator light on dash is still lit.  The DRL's on this year (old body style) is the same as the low beams.  Low beams still work fine.  Is there a fuse or resistor somewhere?

Thanks

Answer
The turbo, or its feed line, are leaking.  Yes, it will need to come off the vehicle for diagnosis and possible overhaul.

The oil leak is likely an oil cooler fitting or the oil filter adapter.  Rear mains tend to leak out the bottom of the engine through the transmission inspection cover (lowest point).

Your blower motor is worn out.  They use sleeve bearings and the armature will drag when the bearings wear out.  The resistor may have overloaded as the motor was going out.  I would have both parts available when you repair the problem.

I believe that a relay is used with the DRLs.  I cannot help you more because I have never worked on a vehicle with DRLs.
