Land Rover Repair: 2005 lr3 Please help, land rover lr3, negative cable

My wife has a 2005 Land rover lr3 V8.  It says on cluster ignition key is in. It is not in. all electric is operable without the key in like the radio, windows, etc.. (it is not in) I am afraid her battery is going to die. How do I fix it?

Hi Ed,

I'm not too familiar with this problem.  Sounds like the ignition key tumbler may be faulty. You could try a light lube on the key and insert it several times to see if it cleans the lock.  

You could also try a quick reset to the vehicle:  disconnect the negative cable for a few seconds and reconnect.

Most likely, its the ignition switch.
