Saab: 87 900 turbo 16v crank no start, crankshaft position sensor, jumper wire

Question
QUESTION: I recently bout this car, sat for 3 years due to a fuel pump issue. i had to run a jumper wire for the fuel pump fuse to the ventilation fan fuse. It worked fine for 2 or 3 weeks then i ran in to a bad rain storm and it stopped working so i moved the jumper wire to the cooling fan fuse therefore giving constant power to the fuel pump allowing me to get it off the highway. Now it has power to the pump and fuel to the fuel rail, but its like the injectors are fire opening. have voltage at the injectors also.

ANSWER: Kalan:
Sounds like a wiring problem somewhere which I am sure you realize. But I cannot comment further without more clarification...what does "fire opening" mean? You may get back to me for further analysis if you wish.

QUESTION: fire opening was just a typo...its like the injectors arent opening.

Answer
Karlan: The injectors on your SAAB are controlled by signals originating at the crankshaft position sensor. This is located within the distributor and triggers the ignition control unit which in turn drives the coil. This same signal goes to pin 1 of the engine control unit which in turn fires the injectors.  Specifically: Low level pulse signals on the green and brown wires coming out of the distributor go to pins 5 and 6 of the ignition control unit located on the left wheel well. The control unit output(pin 7) goes to the ignition amplifier located at position "D" in the fuse panel (adjacent to the relays) whose output in turn goes to the engine control unit,[as noted above],  pin 5 of the test plug located near the relay/fuse box, as well as the tachometer. By tracing this signal path flow, you'll be able to pin point where the signal get lost. I would start with the ignition amplifier...possible corroded terminals.

         Hope this helps,
