Saab: 1984 Saab 900 directional light problem, light glows, saab 900

Question
When I apply the brake the right directional light glows green on the panel and the signal does not work. All the lights, brake, reverse, turn signal etc., all come on when the brake is applied, which makes me think there is a grounding problem but have not yet to look into it. I thought the flasher might have to be replaced but the saab manual explains that both the directional lights will be affected by pushing in on the brakes.

Thanks for your time,

Tom

Answer
Tom:  Sounds like a grounding problem to me also; can you tell if the lights coming on when the brake is applied are at "half strength illumination?"  If so, this confirms a bad ground...I would add an auxiliary ground wire in the vicinity of the trunk.
