Saab: Saab suddenly died, saab 900, 1997 saab 900

My 1997 Saab 900 SE 2.0 turbo died suddenly. I dropped the fuel tank, checked fuel pump with direct battery power and it works. Any ideas? Could it be the direct ignition module? How do I check that?

Inasmuch as there are many possibilities for detecting your problem AND, as noted in my profile, my direct hands-on experience is limited to 1990 and OLDER 900's, I highly recommend subscribing to a website <alldatadiy.com> which has the most complete info for your particular vehicle that I am aware of...well worth the $25/year subscription fee!!!
