Saab: 94 900 S is randomly shutting down, clock spring, situ analysis

Question
I've had tons of problems with my car before, including having it turn over
but not start, but now its decided to just shut off the engine when I stop for
too long-- i.e. a stoplight. It started right up after shutting off, but I have no
idea what's going on. I've also felt sort of lurches when I'm leaving home first
thing in the morning, and there's a SRS light flashing on my dash. All of this
seems like something's terribly wrong, but I have no idea what's going on. Is
it a fuel pump problem, or electrical, or something more serious?
Thanks so much for your time!

Answer
Kelsey:
It sounds like an electrical problem, possibly a loose connection somewhere. But without a careful in-situ analysis, I cannot be any more definitive. (sorry) A 'balky' fuel pump is possible. To pin it down, you need to define as specifically as possible, the EXACT CONDITIONS under which it manifests itself. Feel free to report back .
As for the flashing SRS indication, that indicates a fault in the air-bag system...most likely a defective "clock-spring" {a coiled wiring device located in the hub of the steering wheel) which is fairly easy (and not expensive) to replace. Since its safety related, it should be fixed IMMEDIATELY!!
