Saab: noise questions 97 saab 900 se, saab 900, interior compartment

Question
I have a noise coming from the interior compartment thermometer located next to the heated seat key.  A whine type noise when you put you finger over it or tap it, it changes.  Also, a noise that is only when compressor kicks on, also a metallic type noise with no ac but heat works fine.

 Wow, I am truly baffled by this!!But, also, I am not familiar with the term "heated seat key". Did you mean the ignition key between the seats? Also, I am not familiar with any "thermometer" in that area; did you mean the seat heater thermostat?
  That could conceivably fail in a strange way causing a vibration, but that is something I have never experienced. Sorry that I could not be more definitive, but as I'd noted
my hands on experience is limited to the earlier models.
