Volkswagen: 75 bay window, intake manifold, mechanic

Question
Hi, My name is Brad. I've recently bought my 75 bay, which i love. Since I got a very good deal on the bus, I knew there would be some work required. So I took it to my capable mechanic who checked it all over and realised that valve 3 and 4 was not holding compression so had the engine out and fixed it so to say. Now, It runs much better, only problem is it won't idle. Drives great, come to a complete stop and looses all power. Any idea why?

Answer
Hi Brad,

The most common cause in this situation is that the intake manifold was not sealed correctly on cyls 3-4.

You may want to bring it back, and just have the mechanic look it over quickly to make sure there is a strong seal.

This should fix your problem.
