Volkswagen: VW JETTA CLUTCH, clutch master cylinder, vw jetta gls

Question
I have a 2004 VW Jetta GLS with a manual transmission.  The car has 85,000 miles and it is the original clutch.  The problem I have is when putting the clutch into 1st gear their is a bit a hesitation and you have to push harden then normal to get into gear.  When shifting into all other gears including reverse their is no problems.  Also the clutch does not slip when I accelerated.  Is their a way to adjust the clutch?

Answer
the clutch is hydraulic, so at best you could try bleeding it.(uses brake fluid bottle to fill) also, it sounds less like a clutch problem and more like a gear alignment problem. it may be worth getting the gear linkeage (cables) adjusted to see if that helps. otherwise there is no other adjustment. (note, on certain models the clutch master cylinder may cause problems with poor pedal, and is easy to identify as it will not bleed properly)
