Hi Ray, I wonder if you can help...I have 1991 volvo 740 gl, and i have side lights on even though the rotary switch is off, this is with the engine running. Also, when i start the engine, i have to manually bring the key slighty back to get the lights and indicators etc to work. Would this be a knackered ignition barrel?

You will need a new ignition electrical switch. That maybe the cause of the light also. Here in the United States the earlier model cars did not have side lights. Is it possible that you have a light switch that has a "parking position" on it?
