Volvo: 440 not starting 1995, fuel pumps, fuel pump

Question
my volvo used to start first time in the mornings
but if you travel a few miles and stop it wont start again and i nearly drain the battery before it starts again.
now that i dont use it much it doesnt want to start , it turns over but it looks like there is no spark and i dont hear the fuel pump . i did check the fuse that was fine.
i hope you can help

thanks neil

Answer
Neil,
If the fuel pump will not work the car will not have spark either. Have the fuel system tested to make sure that the fuel pumps run and the system is sound. Check the fuses and the relays first. See if there is power flowing to the relay and the pump.
