Volvo: volvo 940 speakers, 1993 volvo 940, volvo 940

Question
Alright I bought the correct 6x9 sized speakers for the rear. How do I remove the back seats? Also, how do I remove the front door speakers?

Hi I have a 1993 volvo 940 with rear speakers that sound all garbled and need to be replaced. How do I remove the current rear speakers and install new speakers and what kind of speakers can I replace them with? Thanks.
Answer -
Greg,
The seat bottom and back need to be removed, then you will see screws holding the rear hat shelf on. Remove the hat shelf and then the speakers. A radio shop can help with the style and quality of the speakers you will need. From past experience get good speakers they're worth it.

Answer
Greg,
Taking off the front speaker grille, you must push that cover toward the front of the car. The speakers will have rivits or screws holding them in.
Push at the lower outer edge of the the rear seat bottom to release the catch pull out thet bottom. The back has a bendable tab that holds the lower portion of the back secure. Bend that tab and release the bottom edge, push upward to unclip the the back. On some cars the headrests  need to be remover. Look to see if your car is one of those. This sounds pretty easy, however not quite as easy as it sounds.
