Volvo: Key, 2001 volvo v70, volvo v70

Hi Jim,

I just purchased a 2001 Volvo V70 but it came with just one key and one remote and I would like to have a set of spare keys.

The cost is INSANE
Key $62.52 + program $120 = $182.52
Remote $130 + program $120 = $250
GRAND TOTAL FOR A SPARE KEY WITH REMOTE PLUS TAX = $458.47

I cannot afford it and honestly it's an insult! What can I do? Shell I buy a new alarm for $100, installed, instead? So I can save, at least $150?

Hello Max! Unfortunately, there is nothing else you can do. The Ignition keys have a transponder in them that sends a signal to start the car. Both key and remote require special tools and software. You can try to shop another dealer or a Volvo sprecialist for a better price.
