Suzuki: Clutch cable adjustment, suzuki samurai, clutch cable

Question
I have a 1986 Suzuki Samurai.  The clutch pedal has to much play and so the clutch only engages at the last minute.  This is dangerous as you can't hold the vehicle on any incline without the vehicle rolling backwards.  My question is the manual explanation is very brief and I have adjusted the nut at the end of the cable.  This does not seem to have improved the issue.  Is there any other secondary point for adjustment also.

Answer
One of the most consistent issues with sidekick/samurai vehicles is that the area where the cable bends around the radiator area to reverse direction, is where the housing wears through, and adjustment stops helping.  Fortunately cables are not extremely expensive and are quite easy to replace.
It happens every 3-5 years it seems.....
