Suzuki: dieseling, vacuum seals, dieseling

Question
hey scotty, it got really cold in michigan, down to the 50's, anyway the car was running well until tonight when i got off work, drove for about 15 minutes to my house, the car was driving well, good oil pressure and temp, but when i got back to my house the idle was high about 1300 when it usually is around 1000 and it sounds like it's idling on only 3 cylinders, my brother came out and checked to see if had trouble revving, so he took it up to about 5000 and then in the air intake in the carb (it's a weber) it started kind of popping, we let it idle for a little bit, i got in checked the oil pressure and the idle when it's usually around 12 psi, it was climbing to around 20 or so.  so i shut it off and then the whole car started shaking for a few seconds and took about 4 seconds to shut off after the key had been turned off.  i checked the oil cap and there was alot of the mayonaise colored crap in the cap, the fluid level hadn't dropped so i guess it's the cold condensation, but do you have any idea what's causing the dieseling/bad idle?  i checked the vacuum seals and they are all there, my brother says that the carb is 4 years old and probably needs a rebuild, any suggestion?  fast response would be so awesome, i need to get the car fixed so i can get to work :)
take it easy

Answer
Didn't you say you had a Weber carb instead of the oem one?  Does it have an idle shut off solenoid?  If not, that's probably a major factor in the deiseling.
You will have to determine whether the idle is an ignition or mixture caused issue.   Just spray some carb cleaner in the intake and see if the idle changes materially.
