Tips on Buying Cars: Cant make payment, nissan altima, cogeco

I have a 2000 Nissan Altima, I have about $9000 left on the car. I recently lost my job and I can't make the payments any more. what should I do with the car?  Should I call the bank and tell them to pick it up.

The last thing you want is to de-fault payments and having vehicle repo as your future credit rating would be destroyed...
This action will show up on your credit bureau should you wish to apply for credit again...and you will be paying an interest rate way above normal...
there are other ways...i need some more info...
