Tires: Tires, rims and tires, lorraine

My volvo currently has 195/60R 15 rims and tires.  Can I put 195/60R 14 tires on this car?  If yes, will this require new rims?  The 14 tires are brand new and free which is why I ask.

First, fitting 14" tires on 15" rims is impossible.  It would require new rims.

But to do this properly, not only would you need to find out if there is enough clearance around the brakes, you would also need to use a different size than you have mentioned.

Doing a bit of a search in some fitment books I have - and not knowing the year and model of your vehicle - I don't think that 14" wheels are likely to fit.
