Is there a difference any difference in a 225/35 ZR18 94W and a 225/35 ZR18 94W XL

I am hoping the tire size you chose was arbitrary as 225/35R18's come in 83 (SL) and 87 (XL) - and if that is true, the Load Index is also an indicator of the Standard Load (SL) / Extra Load (XL) characteristic.

Put another way, for a given tire size, an SL will have a Load Index 3 or 4 steps lower than an XL.  So assuming the tire size is not accurate, those two you posted would be equivalent.
